Youk wins Gold Glove

Kevin Youkilis of the Red Sox has been selected as the first baseman on the 2007 American League Gold Glove Team.

jmp, I missed your post on Schilling, but count me in as one who is estatic about this development: 4 years, 2 titles, 3 playoff appearances. I'd say he's been a positive influence on this team. He is leaving quite a legacy in New England.

Congrats to Youk: watching him play 1B is a pleasure. I love the way he seems like he could have played in any decade. What a throwback player.

I am so unbelievably happy Youk was recognized, especially since he was overlooked for the All Star Game.

But all of this is overshadowed by my intense focus on a new Mike Lowell contract...
