(Photo borrowed from theremyreport.com Thanks Jerry!!)
""""""New Flash......Boston Mass..... Orson Wells reporting>>>>
Today, October 31, 2007
Scott Boras and Alex Rodriguez along with the front office of the Boston Red Sox have announced a 10 year $250 million deal which will bring the much publicized 3rd base man to bean town.
A-ROD's decision to opt out of his Yankees contract led to a bidding war between clubs yet to be named.
All the details of the singing and incentive package is yet to be released.

Across Boston loyal Red Sox fans have been jumping off of bridges into the Charles River with a bus driver taking a fully loaded bus into the river at noon today. 42 people perished. 11 people have jumped off the Prudential building, 16 people have drown themselves in Boston Harbor and reports of traffic jams keep coming in as people seek to flee from Boston.
It is truly a grim day in Bean Town.... More to follow....

WE DID IT!! 2007 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS THE BOSTON RED SOX!!!

(Photo borrowed from Boston.com...thanks guys!!)

WOW..... I really do not know where to start.
This team is AWESOME!! the front office is AWESOME!!!! Tito is AWESOME!!!

I am sure I speak for all of the long time RED SOX nation members ( mostly we fans of whom were members before the moniker was created!!) THANK YOU!!!
NO more curse...no more drought....no more head hanging....just the joy of being a Sox Fan!

What a post season. First a sweep of the red hot Angels. Then a 1-3 4 game comeback against the surging Indians..then the 4 game World Series sweep of the highly vaulted Rockies.

First thing that comes to mind is...WHAT WILL I DO NOW??? What will all of us do???
I have been so engrossed in the team this year, from attending Spring Training games to being glued to mlb.com for every game and then being glued to the TV for the post Season.

I'll have more free time but I know I will be busy analyzing the 2007 season and keeping an eagle eye for all the changes that may and will occur during the post season.

Will the Sox offer Mikey Lowell what he needs???? Will he bend a bit to stay at Fenway???

Will the Sox offer Shilling what he wants or needs to stay in Boston????

Will the Sox go after A-ROD now that he has split from the Yankers???
( Please note... I think it was a real shitty thing that that jackass agent of his
Scott Boras leaked the info out so that it would overshadow the WS or at least be included in it....pure grandstanding from a guy who thinks only of his wallet and can give a hoot about the fans.)

Should the Sox have a brain fart and go after A-ROD he could play as a shortstop. Which was what he was before the Yankers soiled him. Sorry Lugo, I do like you but A-rod is a wee bit better....

Time will tell what will happen.
We have to trust the front office for so far their leadership has given us fan a WS twice in 4 years and thats not to shabby.
Also I swear never to second guess Tito again!!! For all the times we thought he was loosing his mind he proved to be correct...... so much for arm chair coaching!!!

So I hope to have more posts on our post season soon...thing are a bit nasty for me now....
I would like to say THANK YOU to the RED SOX for entering the post season and winning the World Series as this has given me somthing to look forward to and help me through a difficult time.

GO SOX!!! IN 2008!!!

PS>>>> when Gagne was spotted warming up in the bullpen during game 4 of the WS, did any one else soil their shorts with the thought of him coming to the mound????

It ani't over till its over....

Take a look at the picture I posted in the header.
At the top of the page.
The one showing Fenway all decked out for the ALCS.
I am so proud that out boys have made it so far.
I , like most of the RNS have spent many a day and night worried over the regular season that we would not get to this point.
We ended the regular season 2 games up on the Yankers.
We swept the Angles.
We took our Division Pennant.
Now we are down 1-3 to the ghastly tribe that has only one thing in mind...to hang the scalps of every Red Sox player from their tepee/lodge poles!!!
Tonight might be the closing song on our 2007 season, maybe it wont.
Lots of talk on blogs and web pages how our boys are choking, not trying, throwing in the towel.. the rants go on and on.
I KNOW they are trying their best.
Each game they go out and play to win.
I have faith and knowledge that each Red Sox player is giving 100% or more in and effort to win.
Tonight, Game 5 of the ALCS , the Master & Commander, Josh Beckett is back on the mound.
I wish him Godspeed.
When we win tonight, then its another game and it will be back in BEAN TOWN.
If we lose tonight, then it was a great year. A year with many Red Sox records and a great out look for 2008!!!
PS.........To Theo Epstein and John W. Henry!!! GIVE Michael Averett Lowell HIS CONTRACT NOW!!!!
GO SOX!!!!

Master & Commander

(Globe Staff Photo / Barry Chin)
Game 1 ALDS 4-0 Sox over Angels.

Josh Beckett was near perfect.

He could have only topped this outing by pitching a no-hitter.

Not only was he a Master of his pitches, he Commanded them with pin point precision.
He knocked out 19 batters in a row after a leadoff single by Chone Figgins.

Of his 108 pitches last night, 83 were thrown for strikes, 24 batters either took or swung at a first-pitch strike.
8 Strike outs...ZERO walks......

He pitch 9 innings, going the distance... and gave us a short game, only 2 hours and 27 minutes.

For me , this game brought back memories of Luis Tiant with his shut out of the Reds way back in 1975's game 1 of the World Series. ( I truly bled red when we failed that year.) I remember listening to the games on WTIC while my Dad would drag me to the hardware store on weekends. No he's not a sports fan at all. Don't know where I get it from... the milkman maybe???

This was Beckett's 2nd consecutive shut out in post season and has now a total of 3 post season shut-outs. ( He pitched a complete game in game 6 of the 2003 World Series at Yankee Stadium to shut out the Yankees in a 2-0 win which also clinched the World Series for the Marlins).

Beckett had a bit of help on the defensive side with some great stops/catches from Crisp, Lowell and Ellsbury. Ellsbury made a spectacular sliding catch in the 9th at left field. Glad he was placed in left for Manny during the 9th. As I know Manny would have dived to catch the ball, I would hate to see him injured.
The Sox bats hit Lackey early with a 1 out homer in the 1st by Yuke. In the 3rd inning Yuke doubled just ahead of Papi's homer. Manny drew a walk, advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch and reached home on a single by Lowell.

All in all a good night in Bean Town.

Dice-K on the mound Friday night at home at 8:30. Eat that sushi Dice and step up to the plate... time to earn some of the money!!!

No pre-game predictions for me.. I'm just going to sit back, watch the games and enjoy how our "boy's of summer" have become the "men of October".
